KOBI making plans to open office in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – According to industry analysts, the current increase in oil prices is expected to fuel a construction boom in parts of the Middle East for the next ten years. In order to meet the demands of its clients within the Middle East region, KOBI International is expediting its plans to open a new office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The office will be staffed by engineers who will work with local clients to facilitate all phases of project procurement.

San Cristobal mining project continuing unabated by political challenges

La Paz, Bolivia – Development of the San Cristobal silver and zinc mine is continuing after assurance by the Bolivian government that a recent directive transferring controlling interest in the country’s oil and gas reserve to the government will not affect the mining industry.

KOBI International is a major supplier for the development of the San Cristobal mine, considered to be one of the world’s largest silver-zinc-lead projects.

Located in southwestern Bolivia, the mine is estimated to have reserves of approximately 470 million ounces of silver, 8 billion pounds of zinc and 3 billion pounds of lead, according to a source with owner Apex Mines. The $600 million project is expected to begin it operations during the second half of 2007

KOBI to provide local supply for Barnett Shale projects

Crowley, Texas – KOBI International has announced its plan to begin supplying materials, including drill pipe, for gas projects in the Barnett Shale. Drawing from its global network of suppliers of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation products, KOBI will enter the local market after establishing itself as a major supplier for Aramco projects in the Middle East, as well as projects in Europe, South America and Asia.

KOBI’s plan to open a domestic office in late 2006 comes in response to many requests by local operators and service contractors working in the Barnett Shale for the supply of materials that are in short supply due to the recent increase in drilling activity in the region.

KOBI, based in Crowley, Texas, has offices in the Middle East and South America.
